Lone Madrone Tasting Room and Picnic Grounds

The Tasting Room

Opening in the summer of 2006, the Lone Madrone tasting room boasts rustic elegance at its finest. When at the tasting room you will be greeted by the extended Lone Madrone family. A group of passionate, wine loving folks! Fun conversations and intriguing wines will keep you entertained when visiting Lone Madrone. On special occasions or on “why not” occurrences guests are treated to an impromptu barrel tasting or library tasting. These “why not” occasions are always an exciting way to see what Neil is up to in the cellar and to see how the wines have been coming along in the bottle.

In addition to the array of wines available, the Lone Madrone tasting room features a truly unique blend of works from local artists along with beautiful hand-crafted products by artisans from around the world via fair trade organizations. While browsing the west side Paso Robles tasting room (with a glass of wine in hand, of course) admire unique jewelry from local silversmiths or take in the beauty of sustainably harvested local wood furniture that is oh so inviting. The global fair trade collection showcases beautiful black clay potter from Columbia to handmade Acholi bead jewelry to serving dishes from Africa. Lone Madrone is sure to have that special something when looking for a unique gift be it a bottle of wine or a one-of-a-kind piece of art.

The Grounds

The tasting room is set amongst the picturesque property of the former Sycamore Farms located on the west side of Paso Robles. Truly, the perfect afternoon retreat for a picnic and a bottle of Lone Madrone wine. The rustic building is surrounded by the stunning organic herb and flower nursery of Fat Cat Farms. Lone Madrone is honored to share this property with long-time friend Ken Volk of Kenneth Volk Vineyards.  When finished tasting the wines of Lone Madrone just walk directly next door to taste Ken's acclaimed wines, we have an agreement with Ken that if you take your Lone Madrone glass with you they will give you a 50% discount on your tasting fee.

“We have tried to create a comfortable atmosphere that also matches the elegance of Neil’s wines. One of the most common remarks we hear is that people just love the feel of the property and the tasting room,” says Jackie. “We encourage people to bring a picnic and enjoy everything the property has to offer while tasting some of Paso Robles’ best wines at Lone Madrone and Kenneth Volk Vineyards.”
