WINE OF THE MONTH
2013 Zin of Steel
Bailey Ranch Vineyard, Adelaida AVA
Summer is almost upon us and nothing sips better when firing up the grill than a chilled glass of Zin “Nouveau”. Dry-farmed, head pruned Zinfandel primarily fermented in stainless steel and bottled. This wine begs a chill and enjoying it whilst grilling sausages, a juicy lamb burger or simply a shmear of goat cheese on crusty baguette.
These grapes hail from the acclaimed Bailey Ranch Vineyard in the rugged hills of the Adelaida District. The grapes are picked at a lower brix (sugar) level to retain acidity; they are then crushed and go through maceration most like any red wine. However, after maceration and primary ferment completes, these wines are bottled. There is no secondary malo-lactic ferment, nor any barrel aging. This wine is meant to be drunk in the same fashion as a white wine. Yet with a firm tannin structure and brilliant acidity, this wine has evolved over the last few years into something really special.
We are offering an additional 10% discount on the purchase of three or more bottles, of 2013 Zin of Steel, through the month of May.
